BIBLICAL EVENTS: 2010
EARTHQUAKE: January 2010 IN HAITI
Biblical Prophecy is unfolding
right in front of our eyes. The Haiti Earthquake brought in swift
judgment as the New Year
barely rang in. There was a 7.0
magnitude earthquake in the Caribbean country of Haiti. This earthquake occurred on January 12 2010. By January 24, at least 52 aftershocks measuring .5 or greater had been recorded. Tragically, workers estimated at least three million people were affected by the quake. Many people were affected by unemployment, homelessness and financially.
The Haitian Government reported that this earthquake sadly claimed nearly
230,000 lives, and 300,000 more were injured in the devastation. Relief efforts are currently still underway as people are starting to rebuild their lives and communities together again. Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers (many) places. Time is at hand.

GERMAN VOLCANO ERUPTS
The eruption of the German Volcano, Eyjafjallajökull. devastated the skies in 2010. This was a continuous sequence of volcanic events that originally started on 20 March 2010. The first phase of the eruption was just a common lava flow eruption that did little damage. However, on 14 April 2010 the eruption entered an explosive phase and ejected ash into the sky at a height reaching over (30,000 ft). This event caused significant disruption to European air travel. In response to concerns that the volcano ash would damage aircraft engines, airports were shut down across the country in the United States and many overseas flights were canceled as well. The closures caused millions of passengers to be stranded not only in Europe, but across the world. This volcano ash caused air travel to be delayed about eight days, starting from April 15th to April 23rd 2010.

OIL SPILL IN GULF OF MEXICO The Deepwater Horizon oil spill, also called the BP Oil Spill is a massive ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The oil spill is now considered the largest offshore spill in U.S. history. The spill happened when a well they fixed to the bottom of the sea floor, also known as an oil gusher, had a blowout. This event happened April 20, 2010.
Estimates of the amount of oil being discharged is around (500,000–4,200,000) US gallons A DAY. Experts fear that due to factors such as petroleum toxicity (having toxic oil in our waters) and oxygen depletion, (when the molecule in the oxygen over aquatic or water areas are depleted to the point no life in the water can survive) will result in climate change to fishing industry.

EVENT: ICEBERG BREAKS FROM
GLACIERS
A giant iceberg (An iceberg is a sheet of broken ice) with a surface area of 100 square miles has broken off the Glacier on Greenland’s northwest coast. Thousands of icebergs are created each year by Greenland’s glaciers, but this is the largest since 1962, according to Professor Andreas Muenchow of the University of Delaware. The huge broken glacier in Greenland is raising concerns about the world's warming oceans and the effects it could possibly have on the Earth.
